Ikea has just published a collection of baking recipes called Hembakat är Bäst (Homemade Is Best). While I am sure the recipe book is quite interesting (especially as the recipes will be of the Swedish variety), what has struck me is that the volume is illustrated with some of the most interesting cookbook photography I have ever seen: The food is styled by Evelina Bratell and photographed by Carl Kleiner. The arrangement of ingredients is so stark and geometric that they verge on the abstract. And while the book is free; the bad news is that the only place you can get it is in the kitchen section of Ikea stores — in Sweden. Here are some of the images that accompany the recipes… you could almost put the pictures on the wall!

what a great fun way to illustrate a cook book…
very graphic and very simple…
great artwork idea…
